Triple H Reveals When He Last Spoke To CM Punk, Comments on Potential WWE Return

CM Punk left WWE in 2014

Triple H has revealed he last spoke with CM Punk less than two years ago and says any return to WWE would be dependant on Punk wanting it.

Punk infamously walked out on WWE the night after Royal Rumble 2014 amid reported frustrations over his position on the card, with a match against Triple H reportedly scheduled for WrestleMania 30.

The 'Second City Saviour' has since returned to WWE television, appearing on WWE Backstage, but has not stepped foot in the ring for the company since his departure.

Triple H has now indicated he has held conversations with the former record-breaking WWE champion but suggested that Punk is not necessarily interested in a return to WWE, otherwise those conversations may have already happened.

Speaking to Pardon My Take, he said: "Last time I talked to [Punk]? A year and a half, a year and three quarters ago. A funny thing that people will constantly will say when his return is, but in some way, that has to be what he wants. People go, ‘make the call.’ Who says if we make the call that he wants to answer? What if we make the call and he’s like, ‘I’m not interested in doing that anymore.’ Maybe he’s just done with it.

"Those are conversations that only those people can directly answer. If he wants to do it, we would get word and have those conversations or he would make a call. There has to be a desire there to do something like that. This business is too all in to just go, ‘Ehhhh, alright, I’ll do it."
