Tyler Bate Wins The NXT UK Heritage Cup Championship

A classic match on WWE NXT UK!

Tyler Bate has become the second-ever WWE NXT UK Heritage Cup champion.

The main-event of Thursday's NXT UK show saw A-Kid defend the Cup against Bate, with the duo going the first five rounds out of the six without any falls being claimed by either contestant.

As the first minute of the sixth round ticked away, A-Kid connected with a Superkick and then went for a pin, only for Bate to counter into a pinning combination to pick up the round, the win, and the Cup.

A-Kid, who had beaten Bate's tag-team partner Trent Seven to become the first Heritage Cup champion, was clearly disappointed in his defeat but showed respect to Bate by presenting him the trophy.

A thrilling conclusion to the match saw A-Kid have Bate locked in an armbar as round five came to an end, with Seven contemplating throwing in the towel. Bate, however, in the break between rounds, made Seven promise not to forfeit the match on his behalf.

The win marks Bate's third Championship in WWE NXT. He is a previous WWE NXT United Kingdom champion and has also held WWE NXT Tag Team gold.

Tyler Bate & Trent Seven sat down for an exclusive interview with Cultaholic this week. You can watch the entire interview here, or listen to it on podcast here!
