Satoshi Kojima To Debut In IMPACT Wrestling Next Week

The Japanese wrestling legend heads to IMPACT

The working relationship between IMPACT Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling continues to blossom.

It was revealed in a video package on last night's show that Satoshi Kojima will make his IMPACT debut next week. The 50-year-old was secretly brought in for IMPACT's most recent tapings, according to PWInsider, so he could be wrestling in the American promotion until just before Slammiversary.

A member of NJPW's third generation, Kojima has put together a legendary professional wrestling career in Japan. He was the first wrestler to simultaneously hold the IWGP Heavyweight Title and AJPW's Triple Crown Championship. He is also a former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, MLW World Champion and a seven-time IWGP Tag Team Champion.

Kojima has enjoyed somewhat of a renaissance in recent months. He faced KENTA in a high profile match at Wrestle Kingdom 15 and he feuded with Will Ospreay after the Tokyo Dome show. Their rivalry culminated in an excellent No Disqualification match at New Beginning In Nagoya in January.

Kojima is the fourth NJPW wrestler to work for IMPACT in 2021. FinJuice debuted back in February and they were the IMPACT World Tag Team Champions for 65 days. El Phantasmo also debuted at the last set of tapings and unsuccessfully challenged for the X-Division Title at Under Siege.
