Tyrus Explains Why He's Retiring

Tyrus has given his reasons for retiring

NWA’s 75th anniversary weekend ended with a new NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, as EC3 defeated Tyrus to lift the 10lbs of Gold in a bullrope match.

Before the match, Tyrus announced he would retire if he lost, and so far he has seemingly kept his word. In a follow-up with Slam Wrestling, Tyrus revealed why he has chosen to retire:

“[They wanted] Daddy to be home more often,” Tyrus said, adding that he could now attend his kids’ various sports games and take them fishing. “It was all my idea.”

“The NWA is exploding,” Tyrus added. “So, EC3 will be defending all over. I feel he has been overlooked a lot. Me and him, just seemed right.”

The controversial star may have stepped away from in-ring competition, but admitted the door is always open for an NWA return, whilst Tyrus himself has hinted he may become a road agent one day.

Tyrus’ run with the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship was certainly controversial, and has ended after 289 days.
