Report: More Details On Initial Issues Between CM Punk & Jack Perry Revealed

Issues between CM Punk and Jack Perry got out of hand at All Elite Wrestling's All In pay-per-view on Sunday, August 27 as there was a backstage altercation between the two talents before Punk's match with Samoa Joe. There are several different accounts about what exactly happened but it is known there was a fracas and both Perry and Punk have since been suspended while AEW investigate the matter.

The altercation came after Jack Perry said "It's real glass, go cry me a river" during his Zero Hour match with HOOK while pointing to a limousine windscreen that he would be put through moments later. The comment was a shot at CM Punk, in reference to a backstage argument they had over glass at an AEW Collision taping earlier this Summer, with Perry reportedly feeling that those close to Punk who made details of the argument public were trying to embarrass him.

In an update on what happened during the Collision argument, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Perry wanted to do the angle with real glass to explain why he was going to miss a week of TV for a pre-planned and approved vacation to Hawaii and to set up a future match. AEW had already approved the spot and a car was at the arena to do the angle on Collision but Punk intervened, saying the angle didn't require real glass.

The argument was categorised as a disagreement and Meltzer reported that Perry never said anything about it and other talents believed the matter was settled. That is until those close to Punk made the argument public knowledge and Perry believed the way the incident was presented made it look like he was doing the spot so he could miss a week of TV.

Many of the talents within All Elite Wrestling also thought the argument was "Punk yelling at a guy primarily because he had liked a negative tweet about Punk shortly before he returned and that was the real reason" he took issue with the glass spot.
