Tyson Kidd Rules Out Ever Returning To The Ring

Tyson Kidd's injury rules him out of ever wrestling again

Former WWE star Tyson Kidd (AKA TJ Wilson) has ruled out ever wrestling again.

Wilson hasn't wrestled since suffering a serious spinal injury while taking a Muscle Buster from Samoa Joe in a dark match prior to Raw on June 1, 2015.

The multi-time tag team champion has since worked for the company as a backstage producer, but often fields questions about a potential return to the ring wars after other stars thought to be retired (such as Edge, Bryan Danielson and Saraya) were cleared to compete.

During a recent interview with McGuire on Wrestling, TJ addressed the prospect of him returning.

On people misinterpreting his workout posts as evidence of him getting into ring shape, the 42-year-old said:

"Here's what I don’t think people quite understand, but I wrestled close to exactly 20 years. I get where you see these things and think that it means I'm coming back, but the truth is, when you have something like that for such a long period of time, for me, wrestling was always a physical outlet...I feel like I needed to replace that physical outlet and I upped my time and intensity in the gym a little bit"

Regarding why he won't wrestle again, Wilson added:

"It's so funny, I answer this all the time and then people don’t believe it, and I understand why. We've seen so many other people say that they're retired or whatever and they come back, and that's great, that's cool. It's not in the cards for me. I have a different injury than most people".

Wilson was forced to take some time away from WWE in early 2022 due to his neck issues.
