United States Title Match Set For WWE Money In The Bank

United States Title will be defended at WWE Money In The Bank

The United States Championship will be on the line at Money In The Bank.

It was announced during Monday's episode of Raw that Theory will defend his title against Bobby Lashley at the July 2 pay-per-view in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The two competitors have been feuding in recent weeks and they main evented Raw on June 13 with a pose-down that was won by Lashley. Theory decided to hold another pose-down on Monday but the segment ended when Lashley squirted baby oil in the United States Champion's eyes.

Following that, Theory told Lashley he would earn a title shot at Money In The Bank if he could win a Gauntlet Match. Lashley accepted and he defeated Chad Gable and Otis before he picked up a win over Theory himself to earn a title shot on July 2.

Lashley is a two-time United States Champion, having held the gold for 49 days in 2006 before a 175-day reign from August 2020 until February 2021.

Several other matches have already been set for Money In The Bank including the two namesake ladder matches, and a Raw Women's Title bout between Bianca Belair and Carmella.
