Update On AAA Plans For Roman Reigns

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns looked to be AAA-bound following the post-SummerSlam edition of Monday Night Raw as the show went off the air with AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio and Roman Reigns walking away to have a discussion.

When exactly Roman Reigns will show up in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide is unknown but Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Reigns won't be working the joint AAA-WWE NXT Heatwave event from Edinburg, Texas on Sunday, August 30, nor will Reigns be appearing at night one of AAA Triplemania on September 11 in Las Vegas.

Speculation has instead suggested that WWE could be booking Reigns for WWE x AAA Worlds Collide on September 26. That show will be taking place in the same city and on the same day as AEW All Out. It has also not been ruled out that Reigns will appear at night two of Triplemania in Mexico City on September 13, which will be held one day before WWE Raw is taped from Mexico City on September 14. Reigns is advertised for that Raw taping.

Roman Reigns has not appeared for AAA since the Lucha Libre organisation was acquired by WWE and Fillip in 2025, with Reigns operating as a part-time wrestler for WWE.
