Update On AEW's 'East West Express' Trademark Filing

What is going on with 'East West Express'?

There has been speculation about a possible new AEW signing in recent days after All Elite Wrestling suddenly filed to trademark 'East West Express' on November 27.

'East West Express' is the name of Nick Wayne and Jordan Oliver's tag team on the independents which fuelled rumours that Oliver may have put pen to paper on a deal with AEW. There is no word on if that is the case, however, but Oliver's recent tweets signalled he was surprised by the trademark filing.

That was indeed the case, with Fightful Select reporting that Jordan Oliver was unaware of AEW filing to trademark 'East West Express.' The trademark was filed for merchandise purposes and for use in pro wrestling contests.

East West Express are former GCW Tag Team Champions, having won the belts from the Motor City Machine Guns earlier this year. They dropped the titles to Takashi Sasaki and Toru Sugiura in August.

Nick Wayne and Jordan Oliver have been teaming as the East West Express since December 2022. Wayne is a part of All Elite Wrestling, having joined the company on a full-time basis in July 2023. He is a part of The Patriarchy with Christian Cage and Killswitch (FKA Luchasaurus).
