Trademark Filing Fuels Rumours Of New AEW Signing

Rumours of a new AEW signing swirl after trademark filing

A recent trademark filing by All Elite Wrestling has fuelled rumours that the promotion are set to make a new signing.

AEW filed a trademark for the name ‘East West Express’ for merchandising reasons, with the name having previously been used by Nick Wayne and teammate Jordan Oliver in GCW. Such a filing has obviously led to speculation that Oliver could be or indeed has already signed with AEW.

From the trademark filing:

“Mark for: EAST WEST EXPRESS™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of bandanas; Beanies; Hats; Shirts; Sweatshirts; Tank tops; T-shirts.”

Oliver and Wayne reigned as GCW Tag Team Champions on one occasion as the East West Express. The pair defeated the Motor City Machine Guns for the belts in March 2023, before dropping them to Takashi Sasaki and Toru Sugiura in August.

Wayne made his AEW debut in July 2023 two days after his 18th birthday, having signed with the company in February 2022. Wayne and Oliver last teamed together in October in a win over Garbage Daddies at GCW Fight Club in New Jersey.
