Update On AJ Lee's Pro Wrestling Future Following CM Punk's WWE Return
Could AJ Lee return to WWE with CM Punk?
CM Punk’s WWE Raw return on November 27 saw the ‘Second City Saviour’ do what he does best, with that trusty microphone in his hand.
As part of his return promo to WWE, Punk hit many topics such as being ‘home’, being welcomed by some in the locker room, and being asked how his wife former Divas Champion AJ Lee was doing. The mention of AJ was the first on WWE TV for several years, and led to optimism amongst fans that she could return, however a report from PWInsider states that this is not the case.
AJ last wrestled for WWE in March 2015, and subsequently retired due to health issues. Since retiring AJ has forged a successful writing career, but the report suggests that a cameo appearance shouldn’t be ‘out of the question’ with Lee having served as a major influence on many of today’s competitors in WWE’s women’s division.
In WWE, AJ is a former three-time Divas Champion, and is seen as one of the names that spearheaded the early women’s revolution in the company.
