Update On AJ Lee's Status For WWE Royal Rumble

AJ Lee is often a name mentioned as a possible Royal Rumble surprise and speculation has, once again, swirled about a potential return for the former Divas Champion on Saturday night. Speculation only intensified too after Lee's husband CM Punk hinted he would like to see her return in the Women's Royal Rumble Match.

In an update on Lee's status for the Rumble, Fightful Select has reported that people within WWE haven't heard anything about Lee returning at the Royal Rumble but they did note it would be kept extremely close to the vest if she were to make a comeback.

A WWE higher-up also said: "She always looks like she'd fit right back in on TV, and I'm sure she's aware that if she decided she wanted to be in the Royal Rumble tomorrow, that could happen."

It was noted in 2024 that WWE were interested in bringing AJ Lee back to the company.

Lee has not wrestled for WWE since 2015. She has been involved with pro wrestling over the past 10 years, though, serving as a producer and colour commentator for WOW - Women of Wrestling from 2021 until 2023. Lee also wrestled as part of the Starz series Heels.
