Update On Braun Strowman's Injury, WWE Title Match Plans For TLC

What's the latest?

It was initially reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Braun Strowman was going to challenge WWE champion Drew McIntyre for the belt at TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs on December 20.

However, Strowman suffered a knee injury at Survivor Series, the severity of which is still not known.

The next night on Raw, WWE appeared to write Strowman out of TV, via kayfabe suspension after he attacked Adam Pearce. A number one contender's tournament was then instituted to determine McIntyre's next challenger, the finals of which are set to take place this Monday night.

Although it was speculated that plans could shift back to Strowman as McIntyre's challenger as his health allows (thus negating the ongoing tournament), Meltzer reported Sunday morning that the current impression is that Strowman will not be at TLC.

Meltzer does add that the writing team hasn't been told anything otherwise, and is still under the impression that Strowman is slotted in as McIntyre's opponent. However, that plan no longer seems likely.

AJ Styles, Keith Lee, and Riddle face off Monday night in a triple threat match to determine McIntyre's opponent for TLC.
