A new report indicates that sexual assault charges against former WWE and Impact Wrestling World champion Alberto Del Rio have been dropped, according to Mas Lucha.

The news comes less than two months before he was due to appear in court to answer sexual assault and kidnapping charges.

Del Rio (real name Jose A. Rodriguez Chucuan) had been arrested on May 9, following a reported incident from five days earlier, in which he was alleged to have inflicted multiple injuries on a woman.

The original report claimed that Del Rio slapped the woman across the head twice, before forcing her to put on a dress and dance for him. The report further alleged that Del Rio threatened to take her son and leave him in the middle of the road if she cried. It was also alleged that Del Rio had assaulted her for several hours, going so far as to stuff a sock in her mouth to keep her quiet.

Del Rio posted bail after being held for several hours. He was indicted on October 9 on charges of aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault. The trial date was set for January 25.

According to the report, the woman who accused him issued an apology to his family on Instagram, which translates to, "I apologize to the Rodriguez Del Rio family for the damages caused by my errors."
