Update On Brock Lesnar's WWE Future

Brock Lesnar hasn't appeared in WWE all year

Brock Lesnar has been absent from WWE programming since all the way back at SummerSlam 2023 when he lost a rubber match to Cody Rhodes. Lesnar would raise his opponent's arm after a loss, giving him the proverbial rub. Despite plans to bring Brock Lesnar back at the 2024 Royal Rumble, with a prospective build to a WrestleMania 40 match with Gunther, plans for Lesnar in WWE were firmly halted.

Lesnar was implicated in the sexual assault and trafficking case which alleged Vince McMahon to have breached the terms of an NDA with former WWE employee Janel Grant. In the aftermath of these allegations coming to light and a former “UFC Heavyweight Champion” being mentioned, Lesnar was swiftly removed from plans, being replaced in the Royal Rumble match by Bron Breakker. Ever since this moment, Lesnar has not appeared on WWE programming. He was mentioned very briefly in Paul Heyman’s Hall of Fame induction speech, but aside from that there has not been any mention of his name.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer touched on the rumours that Lesnar might be on his way back into the fold in WWE. It is noted though that Lesnar would need to be cleared by WWE’s legal team, though this has not yet happened. For this reason, if Lesnar is to return, it will certainly not be imminent.
