Update On Creative Details Of Released WWE Talents

WWE let go of 18 wrestlers on Thursday

Creative details for some of the 18 released talents from both WWE's main roster and developmental side have been revealed by Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful Select.

According to the report, the wholesale changes for both Keith "Bearcat" Lee and Karrion Kross on the main roster were not the ideas of either man.

The report also states that Scarlett (who was not called up with Kross this past summer) was intended to be a wrestler on Raw or SmackDown, but was "sidelined". There was also an internal push from some to package Scarlett with Kross on the main roster, but it never came to be.

Mia Yim had not wrestled for WWE at all in 2021, but was selected to Raw in October's Draft. According to Fightful, there were plans to have her reappear prior to the Draft, and she had quietly changed brands multiple times. However, all plans were nixed, and she ended up among Thursday's cuts.

Katrina Cortez was briefly called up in late 2019 (under the name Carolina) to team with Sin Cara, but there were no real plans going forward for them. Sin Cara had told Fightful they were just put together to lose to Andrade and Zelina Vega. Sin Cara asked for his release shortly thereafter, while Katrina was sent back to NXT.
