Update On Drew McIntyre Moving To WWE SmackDown
More news on Drew McIntyre's potential move to SmackDown
Feb 2, 2025
WWE’s roster has been involved in the ‘Transfer Window’ throughout the start of 2025, opening up the walkways between Monday Night RAW, Friday Night SmackDown and NXT, with many wrestlers from opposing brands showing up here, there and everywhere. The 2025 Royal Rumble PLE officially closed the Transfer Window, though fans are still not too sure on all of the movements between the three brands.
Drew McIntyre has been showing up more regularly on SmackDown in recent weeks amidst reports of him being officially moving to the blue brand, though given that he has still also been a regular on RAW, his status was uncertain. PWInsider have reported that the plan is still in place for McIntyre to become a part of the SmackDown brand going forwards, and that it has been the plan ‘for some time’. It was also noted that we’d see the result of this in the days to come, so expect him to show up on SmackDown.
McIntyre was eliminated from the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match by another man who is new to SmackDown - Damian Priest. It was reported that following this elimination, McIntyre stormed out of the arena cursing about something going wrong and ‘someone had to get their moves in’.
