Gabe Kidd has recently made several appearances for All Elite Wrestling during contract discussions with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, prompting rumours that Kidd could be making the switch to AEW.
Kidd’s NJPW deal is believed to have expired in early 2025, with recent reports suggesting he is yet to sign a new deal. During this period, Kidd has made several appearances for AEW, and per a report from Fightful Select Kidd is currently working for the company on a per-appearance deal but has allegedly made a good impression on AEW management.
The report again suggests that Kidd may yet to have reached an agreement on a new deal with New Japan, but does not suggest that Kidd is actively looking to become ‘All Elite’. Indeed, when Kidd has wrestled on recent AEW shows he has worn his NJPW logo adorned trunks.
Kidd also returned to New Japan today at the 53rd Anniversary show, teaming with Drilla Moloney against House of Torture's Ren Narita and Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Kidd is part of the New Japan Cup tournament which begins on March 7.
Kidd is one of several wrestlers to have seen their NJPW deals expire in early 2025, with the likes of Zack Sabre Jr., Kevin Knight, and David Finlay reaching the end of their contracts. It is expected that most will sign new deals, although until the ink is dry on the contract expect any potential plans to change.
