An update on Jacob Fatu's condition following SummerSlam has emerged.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H had already noted during the post-show press conference that Fatu was "a little banged up" following SummerSlam. Fatu was involved in the main event of SummerSlam, interfering in the Undisputed WWE Title match on behalf of Solo Sikoa which resulted in Fatu putting Cody Rhodes through the announce table with a Splash. Fatu hit his leg off the announce table during the dive, though, with some suggesting he was legitimately injured on the move.

Fatu was spotted in a walking boot following SummerSlam but reports from Fightful Select and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer have noted he was planned to sell the leg following his Splash through the announce table at SummerSlam, although to what extent is unknown. Fatu was planned to sell an injury in order to keep him away from a confrontation with Roman Reigns during the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion's return in the closing moments of SummerSlam.

Fightful also noted that Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso were never planned to be involved in the main event of SummerSlam on the side of Cody Rhodes. Talent and staff Fightful has spoken to also said they believe Jacob Fatu is okay following the August 3 pay-per-view, although there is no confirmation beyond that.

It was revealed in April that Jacob Fatu had signed with WWE, having impressed on the independent wrestling scene and in Major League Wrestling. Fatu is a part of Solo Sikoa's version of The Bloodline with Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa.
