Update On Jeff Hardy To AEW Rumors

The non-compete of the "Charismatic Enigma" expires this week

In what should come as no surprise to anyone, Jeff Hardy is expected to be with AEW in the very near future, as reported on Fightful Select.

Hardy is also expected to be at this Wednesday's Dynamite in Estero, FL, but it's not currently known if he'll appear on the program. His WWE non-compete expires this week.

The Fightful report goes on to say that Hardy drew AEW's interest after his December release from WWE, and that the company made certain that no actual substance issues played a part in his release.

Hardy had acted strangely during a WWE house show match in December, which was the catalyst for his release (along with an apparent refusal to go to rehab). The Hardy family claimed that Jeff passed a breathalyzer and drug test after the house show incident, while one source in WWE claimed that WWE "jumped the gun" on releasing Hardy.

In AEW, brother Matt has teased dissension with business partner Andrade el Idolo and clients Private Party. On the February 9 Dynamite, Matt walked out on Isiah Kassidy during his match against Keith Lee, leaving through the crowd (intentionally done in the same manner that Jeff walked out of the house show months earlier).
