New champions crowned at Sacrifice!
Mar 6, 2022
Only two weeks after No Surrender, IMPACT Wrestling held the 'Sacrifice' IMPACT Plus special at Old Forester's Paristown Hall in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, March 5, and three championships changed hands at the event
In the first title change of the night, The Influence of Madison Rayne and Tenille Dashwood defeated The IInspiration to win the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship. Dashwood picked up the win for her team after Kaleb With A K threw one of the belts into the ring and the former Emma used the title to hit Cassie Lee over the head.
Violent By Design also became IMPACT World Tag Team Champions for a second time at Sacrifice as Eric Young and Joe Doering defeated their former allies The Good Brothers. VBD earned the win following a Powerbomb Neckbreaker to Karl Anderson, ending The Good Brothers' reign at 231 days.
In a surprise on the show, Mickie James lost the Knockouts World Championship to Tasha Steelz following repeated interference from Savannah Evans and a Mid-Air Cutter from the challenger. James had been Knockouts World Champion since Bound For Glory 2021 in October.
In another major moment on the show, Team IMPACT continued to haemorrhage members as Steve Maclin turned on Rhino during The Man Beast's match with Honor No More's Eddie Edwards, using a kendo stick on Rhino to help Edwards hit the Boston Knee Party for the victory.
Josh Alexander also made his return to IMPACT following Moose's successful IMPACT World Title defence against Heath. The Walking Weapon laid out the man who defeated him for the world title at Bound For Glory before Alexander revealed he had signed a new multi-year deal with the promotion and would be challenging for the IMPACT World Championship at Rebellion on April 23.
