Update On John Cena's Plans For WWE Raw Return

John Cena will make his return to WWE Monday Night Raw on the November 2 episode from Brooklyn, New York, and, according to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, the assumption backstage at Raw was that Cena's appearance will be tied to the upcoming John Cena Classic.

The internal expectation is that Cena will announce details of the event, such as where and when it will take place. Cena unveiled the John Cena Classic at Backlash 2026, although official details have been few and far between since then beyond Cena confirming the show will take place at some point in December.

The John Cena Classic is scheduled to be built around main roster vs. NXT wrestlers and a John Cena Classic Champion will be determined in a fan vote.

WrestleVotes further noted there have been a number of meetings and discussions about the John Cena Classic, with WWE wanting to ensure the event looks and feels fresh. This has involved consulting the likes of Shawn Michaels and AJ Styles about the show.

How the John Cena Classic will air has also yet to be revealed, with the original plan being for the event to be a milestone programme on the Club WWE membership scheme. The event is likely to be streamed on a different platform, however, according to WrestleVotes.
