Maki Itoh’s arrival to AEW at the beginning of 2021 was like a lightning bolt, with many pro wrestling fans becoming instant fans of the self-proclaimed ‘Cutest Pro Wrestler in the World’ and her fresh take on pro wrestling.

After a series of matches for AEW, Itoh made her way back to Japan, and hasn’t returned to AEW since wrestling on the March 10 edition of Dynamite, and the debut edition of AEW: Dark Elevation.

Now, Itoh has addressed her current standing with AEW in a livestream, revealing that she has received no contract offers from AEW or WWE, despite recently being the number one ranked star on Pro Wrestling Tees.

Itoh’s style isn’t for everybody, but she does possess a unique character, and would surely be a low risk get for any major wrestling company in the States. It is worth noting that AEW still enjoys a working relationship with Japan’s Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling where Itoh is mainly based, and you can assume that when Covid restrictions are lifted fully in Japan and USA that there would be scope for Itoh to appear on AEW television once more.
