WWE fans should not expect to see Malakai Black appear in the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble Match.
In adding to recent reports, Mike Johnson of PWInsider has noted that Malakai Black is done with All Elite Wrestling and there have been no talks over a final appearance from the former AEW World Trios Champion.
Black won't be able to work the Men's Royal Rumble Match on February 1, however, as he won't be a free agent in time for the show. It is believed that Black's deal with AEW runs until some point in February or March.
The expectation is Malakai Black will return to WWE when he is able to do so, with reports noting that influential names in WWE are big fans of Malakai Black and they see him as a possible top singles act. Triple H and Paul Heyman are known to be supporters of Black and they pushed him on WWE TV during his time as Aleister Black from 2017 until 2021.
In All Elite Wrestling, meanwhile, Malakai Black reportedly frustrated his AEW colleagues due to the perception that he was reluctant to do jobs in the promotion and his frequent claims of dealing with injuries. The 39-year-old also didn't develop a rapport with AEW CEO and Booker Tony Khan.
