Update On Paul Wight's Potential In-Ring Return

Paul Wight has shed some light on a potential return to the ring

Wellllll, well it’s an update on Paul Wight’s in-ring future.

The former WWE, WCW, and ECW World Champion last wrestled in October 2021, and during an appearance on the Rob Brown Show, Wight said he wants to wrestle for AEW when the company is in his hometown Columbia, South Carolina for the March 30 Dynamite:

"I'm really hoping that a lot of fans will come out and experience AEW and see the difference,” said Wight. “Myself, I'm talking to Tony Khan, I can't exactly go book myself, but I'm trying real hard to get a match going so I can at least wrestle in my hometown in Columbia. I'm looking forward to competing that night. If not, I'll definitely be there doing Elevation and doing commentary," said Wight.

Wight joined AEW in February 2021, primarily working as a commentator on AEW Dark Elevation with Tony Schiavone. During his time with the company Wight has wrestled on three occasions with his highest profile outing being a singles victory over QT Marshall at AEW All Out 2021.
