Penelope Ford may not be out of action for long following an injury on Wednesday night's episode of AEW Dynamite. Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has reported that Ford sustained an ankle sprain as opposed to a broken ankle and she should be back soon.
Ford suffered the injury on Dynamite during a moonsault to the outside as she landed on her feet. Ford was in action alongside Megabad stablemate Megan Bayne as they challenged The Babes of Wrath in Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron for the AEW Women's Tag Team Championships.
Ford's injury resulted in her being ruled out of the contest during the commercial break. This led to an audible being called mid-match which saw Lena Kross run down to the ring and cause a DQ finish. The decision was made to change the finish to avoid Megan Bayne - a heel - having to work from underneath against the babyface team of The Babes of Wrath.
Penelope Ford has suffered from injury issues during her AEW tenure. She was out of action for two years from October 2022 to October 2024, and she was sidelined in late 2025 after sustaining a UCL tear in October. She returned in January 2026.
