Forbidden Door is set to return in 2024, with the third annual supershow pitting All Elite Wrestling against New Japan Pro-Wrestling set to be the biggest edition of the series to date.

After the success of the first two events in 2022 and 2023, AEW are looking to holding Forbidden Door 2024 in a stadium, with Andrew Zarian reporting that New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium is in line to host the show.

AEW are no strangers to Arthur Ashe, having held Grand Slam specials of Dynamite and Rampage in the venue in 2021, 2022, and 2023. A report from PWInsider suggested that AEW were indeed planning on returning to the Queens, NY tennis stadium but not necessarily for Grand Slam, suggesting that Forbidden Door could indeed be the company’s first stadium pay-per-view since Grand Slam in Wembley in August 2023.

Zarian further reported that Grand Slam could still be on the cards for 2024, but a venue and date are yet to be confirmed.

Chicago and Toronto have so far played host to Forbidden Door events, with both crossover shows heralded as critical successes. Rumours suggest the 2024 edition could also feature CMLL wrestlers, after the historic lucha libre federation entered into a working partnership with AEW, alongside their long-established working relationship with NJPW.
