Any plans for All Elite Wrestling to debut a Shockwave show appear to be dead in the water.

AEW filed to trademark 'AEW: Shockwave' in September 2024 and it was reported soon after that the promotion were in talks with multiple networks over the possible new series, including FOX. By December, though, there had yet to be an official announcement about Shockwave and it was reported that AEW's TV ratings in 2024 harmed the chances of a network picking up Shockwave.

In an update, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has reported that Shockwave was "always just a theory and possible pitch" and "there were no plans for Shockwave that I've heard." Instead, it is assumed that AEW have been very happy with the direction of Collision as of late, with a renewed focus having been placed on the show since the beginning of 2025.

All Elite Wrestling's TV ratings have also improved in 2025 since Dynamite and Collision began to air on Max. Reports have noted that AEW Dynamite averages between 1 million and 1.2 million viewers across TBS and Max within the first 24 hours of airing. Within three days of airing, Dynamite averages around 1.5 million viewers on TBS, while Collision draws around 1 million viewers within three days of airing on TNT.
