Samoa Joe has been out of action in All Elite Wrestling since All In Texas, but it looks like Joe will be back in AEW soon.

The former AEW World Champion was written off TV after having his neck Pillmanised by The Death Riders, with Joe needing time off to do promotional work for Twisted Metal season two.

Talking with PWInsider, the ‘Samoan Submission Machine’ hinted he’d be back in AEW sooner than later:

“Definitely sooner than later. We’re clearing our various medical protocols, and as soon as we’re done with that, we’ll be back to business,” said Joe.

Joe has been absent from AEW since July 12, with initial reports suggesting the Ring of Honor legend would be absent for around several weeks at least. Based on this, a return for Joe can be expected imminently. Twisted Metal season two premiered on July 31, with Joe physically portraying Sweet Tooth in the series, with Will Arnett providing the voice for the psychotic clown.

When Joe returns, he has several storylines that he could slot into, with revenge against The Death Riders surely paramount, whilst there were also mounting tensions between him and Opps stablemate HOOK before Joe’s sabbatical.
