Update On Why Harley Cameron Took Time Off From AEW

AEW star Harley Cameron is set for some time on the sidelines after recently undergoing surgery on her nose.

It was initially reported that Harley suffered an injury during her match on the Double or Nothing buy-in show (on May 25) and that AEW had opted to shoot an angle giving Megan Bayne credit for the injury on Dynamite three days later.

However, that has turned out not to be the case, with the Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez noting that the angle was actually designed to write Cameron off television so that she could undergo a previously scheduled procedure. It was noted that the blood used in the angle on Dynamite was fake.

Harley posted a post-surgery photo of her face, her eyes swollen and nose heavily bandaged, on social media over the weekend, alongside the caption: "Well I can't see much right now… but REVENGE is starting to look really good…".

The 31-year-old signed a full-time deal with AEW in 2023. Earlier this year, AEW CEO Tony Khan praised Cameron for her overall improvement over the past year.
