Update On WWE Raw Commentary Team

A change on the announce table is incoming.

Monday Night Raw commentator Dio Maddin has not appeared on WWE TV since taking an F-5 through the announce table on November 4th.

Following this, rumours swirled that Maddin would not return as Raw was transitioning to a two-man commentary team. However, PWInsider reported that Maddin was just being kept off TV to sell the brutality of Brock Lesnar's attack.

Despite these earlier reports, Ryan Satin confirmed last night that Maddin would not be returning to Raw as a commentator. He explained that Maddin still aspires to be a WWE Superstar, and is therefore returning to the WWE Performance Center to continue training.

Before becoming a colour commentator on Raw, the former Houston Texan competed as Marcellus Black in NXT. While he did not feature on NXT TV, he did compete at live events, and also appeared in Booker T's Reality of Wrestling promotion.

Samoa Joe will replace Maddin going forward until he heals from injury. Whether WWE will replace Joe or transition to a two man team with Jerry "The King" Lawler and Vic Joseph is yet to be confirmed.
