WWE's expected response to the lawsuit filed by Janel Grant has been revealed.
In new court documents filed with the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut on May 7, all parties agreed deadline dates by which various court filings must be submitted to the court. It was agreed that all responses from the defendants must be filed by May 14, while Janel Grant's opposition to the responses must be filed by June 4. The defendants' reply must then be submitted by June 18.
Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis have already filed their responses to the Janel Grant lawsuit, requesting arbitration. Laurinaitis' lawyer Edward Brennan initially claimed he was a victim of McMahon's but Laurinaitis has since performed a U-turn and sided with McMahon. The court documents filed on May 7 also revealed that WWE are expected to file a motion also requesting arbitration, although the company has yet to file an official response to the lawsuit.
Janel Grant filed a lawsuit back in January 2024 against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE. Vince McMahon has been accused of sex trafficking, sexual assault and physical and emotional abuse. John Laurinaitis has been accused of sexual assault, while WWE have been accused of trying to cover up the allegations against Vince McMahon.
The lawsuit led to Vince McMahon's resignation as TKO Executive Chairman. He has since sold most of his shares in the company. McMahon is still being investigated by federal authorities over allegations of sexual assault from as far back as the 1980s. WWE, meanwhile, have looked to distance themselves from McMahon, attempting to establish the 'Triple H Era.'
