Rey Fenix is officially a free agent after being released by All Elite Wrestling, but has the Lucha Brother signed a deal with WWE yet?

Fenix to WWE has been expected for the best part of a year, after initial reports in mid-2024 suggested Fenix and brother Penta had spoken with WWE about jumping ship while signed to AEW. An update from Fightful Select suggests that Fenix hasn’t signed a WWE contract yet but it is looking like a foregone conclusion, with medical tests for Fenix set to occur soon.

What’s more, the report also states that merchandise ideas have already been brainstormed for Fenix, and barring any unforeseen circumstances it looks like he’ll be a WWE Superstar in the not-too-distant future. Earlier reports had suggested that Fenix could be in the frame by WrestleMania 41.

Fenix was officially released by AEW in early March, having earlier had injury time added to his deal whilst voicing his opinion that he was receiving ‘inhumane treatment’ by his former employer. Fenix’s brother Penta exited AEW in December 2024 after the expiration of his deal, debuting on WWE Raw in January.
