Usos Win Tag Team Championship Unification Match On WWE SmackDown

Jimmy and Jey unify the titles

The Usos are the unified WWE Tag Team champions, after defeating Randy Orton and Riddle in the main event of Friday's SmackDown in Grand Rapids, MI.

For the finish, Roman Reigns prevented Riddle from superplexing Jey Uso, holding his cousin's foot and allowing Riddle to fall back to the canvas. Jey immediately followed up with a top rope splash to win.

This marks the first time in nearly six years that there has been just one set of men's Tag Team champions on WWE's main roster. The current SmackDown Tag titles were introduced following the second brand extension in 2016, with Heath Slater and Rhyno becoming the first champions that September.

Jimmy and Jey Uso have reigned as SmackDown Tag Team champions since July 18 of last year, when they defeated Rey and Dominik Mysterio on the kickoff show of Money in the Bank.

Orton and Riddle's second reign as Raw Tag Team champions ends after 74 days. They had won the titles in a triple threat match against Alpha Academy and Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins on the March 7 Raw.
