Varsity Blonds Seemingly Frustrated With AEW Booking

The Varsity Blonds lost to The Gunn Club in 30 seconds on the August 17 Dynamite

After being heavily featured in 2021, The Varsity Blonds have not enjoyed a particularly fruitful 2022, with their latest outing on the August 17 edition of AEW: Dynamite seeing the Blonds job to The Gunn Club in a quick 30 second squash.

Afterwards, Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr. took to Twitter to seemingly express their disappointment and frustration with their booking, with Garrison simply tweeting “Frustrated”, whilst Pillman retweeted several fans who complained about the team’s booking, whilst also posting Steve Austin's debut ECW promo where Austin lambasted WCW management and shot on his booking in the company.

Pillman and Garrison first joined forces in 2020 in a loss against FTR, before adopting the Varsity Blonds moniker at the end of the year. The team - along with cheerleader Julia Hart - were regularly featured on AEW TV, with Pillman even having a heated mini feud with MJF in Summer 2021.

In 2022, the pair have only wrestled together on 13 occasions in AEW, becoming little more than jobbers to the stars after losing a feud against The House of Black at the beginning of the year.
