Veteran Wrestlers Pushing For AEW To Sign Sheamus

If he will end up in the promotion is unknown but Sheamus reportedly has support within All Elite Wrestling.

Fightful Select has reported that some "big, veteran names" have pushed for AEW to sign the former WWE Champion, with those Sheamus has worked with in the past hoping the 48-year-old lands in All Elite Wrestling.

Fightful noted, however, they have not heard of any substantial conversations between Sheamus and AEW as of yet. AEW and Tony Khan have been adamant about not holding talks with upcoming free agents until they are contractually able to sign with the promotion, with AEW preferring to be cautious even when there is unlikely to be any legal recourse against the company over holding such talks.

Sheamus became a free agent after his WWE contract expired on October 1, ending his time with the company after 19 years. It was revealed in July that Sheamus would be leaving WWE, having rejected a restructured contract that would have included a pay cut.

Reports have noted that AEW are expected to be interested in Sheamus. Another company interested in the four-time world champion is TNA, according to Fightful Select.
