Vince McMahon Helps Secure 'Big Money' Deal Between UFC & Saudi Arabia

Vince McMahon's relationship with Saudi Arabi helped UFC secure a favourable deal

It is believed that Vince McMahon played a role in helping UFC secure a big-money deal in Saudi Arabia.

Writing in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE's Executive Chairman assisted UFC in closing a deal with the Gulf state:

"Those in WWE had told us that Vince was involved in UFC’s new deal with Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia had been interested in MMA in the past and had made a huge offer to Khabib Nurmagomedov to come out of retirement but Nurmagomedov decided against it. But Vince's relationships there helped UFC close a similar big money deal."

WWE began running live events in Saudi Arabia in 2014, ahead of signing a ten-year deal with the country's Sports Authority in 2018. Under the terms of the deal, WWE run two major Premium Live Events in the country per year.

WWE are reportedly paid tens of millions of dollars for each show. Their next show in Saudi Arabia will be Crown Jewel on November 4.
