Vince McMahon Reportedly Felt Karrion Kross Wasn't Getting Over On WWE Raw

Kross was released by WWE on Thursday

Karrion Kross had not 'gotten over' in WWE in the eyes of Vince McMahon and was reportedly in the middle of a third repackage at the time of his release from the company.

Kross was one 18 names let go by WWE on Thursday 4 November as the former NXT Champion was released alongside the likes of fiancée Scarlett, Keith Lee, Ember Moon, Nia Jax and many others.

The departure of Kross was arguably the most shocking release during this round of 'budget cut' related exits from WWE but, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon was already expressing some frustration with the 36-year-old.

Per the report, McMahon had made the decision to pull Kross from television because the WWE Chairman felt that the former NXT Champion had not gotten over. People within the company had been told about plans for Kross to be repackaged for a third time, having only made his main roster debut back in July.

Kross introduced a new, Gladiator-esque gimmick on Monday Night Raw following his permanent move to the red brand in August, but McMahon decided that this character wasn't working either, hence the decision to pull him from television shows.

Kross spent less than two years with WWE after his signing was confirmed in February 2020.
