Vince McMahon Views Sonya Deville's Gimmick As "Stephanie-Esque"

Sonya Deville believes that Vince McMahon sees a lot of Stephanie in her WWE persona.

WWE Superstar Sonya Deville recently appeared on Out Of Character with Ryan Satin, and discussed the inspiration behind her current authority figure persona.

“I’ve gotten a lot of what I do from Stephanie [McMahon]. Looking back on the old Stephanie stuff, I think that is Vince’s kind of vision for me, a Stephanie-esque character. When I do get in the ring, it’s like yeah I [...] get in the ring as an authority figure. I will use my power how I see fit and how I can to my advantage and I’ll enjoy doing it because that’s how Steph does and that’s how Vince did. I’ve taken a lot of notes from both of their past work for sure.”

Sonya had been engaged in a long feud with Naomi, but recently became involved in Charlotte Flair's ongoing rivalry with Ronda Rousey. Deville and Flair recently teamed against Rousey and Naomi at Elimination Chamber, a match which the babyface team won despite Ronda having one hand tied behind her back.

Charlotte and Rousey are set to compete for Flair's WWE SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 38, while Sonya currently has no match on the card.
