The feud between MJF and Wardlow took an unexpected twist on the recent AEW: Dynamite, when MJF hinted that Wardlow’s next challenger could be IMPACT Wrestling’s W. Morrissey.

After ‘Mr. Mayhem’ despatched Lance Archer with the Powerbomb Symphony, MJF and Shawn Spears were interviewed backstage, where MJF made a phone call to a mystery wrestler, asking if they’d be willing to take on Wardlow next week. MJF then turned to the camera and said this wrestler was smarter and stronger than Wardlow, and even taller than Wardlow too, and ‘you can’t teach that’.

Formerly known as Big Cass in WWE, Cass used to be introduced by former tag partner Enzo Amore by proclaiming he’s “seven foot tall, and you can’t teach that.” After his WWE release in 2018, Morrissey overcame addiction, before getting in phenomenal shape and joining IMPACT Wrestling in 2021.

In IMPACT Morrissey has rebuilt his career, even challenging for the IMPACT World Championship at Hard to Kill 2022, with then champion Moose retaining against Morrissey and Matt Cardona in a three-way match.
