Wes Lee Says He's Done With WWE NXT

Wes Lee seemingly ‘done’ with WWE NXT

On the September 12 edition of WWE NXT, Wes Lee was in action against Ilja Dragunov for a shot at NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes at the upcoming NXT No Mercy event, with Dragunov overcoming Lee to book his spot in the title match.

Lee threw everything at the former NXT UK Champion but still came up short, and later in the episode Lee was shown leaving the arena with his gear and heading home, stating he was ‘done’ with NXT and had cleared his locker out.

In NXT, Lee is a former two-time NXT Tag Team Champion, one-time Dusty Rhodes Cup winner - both with Nash Carter - and he is a former one-time NXT North American Champion, losing the latter to Dominik Mysterio earlier this Summer.

Lee signed with WWE in late 2020, debuting on NXT as part of MSK in January 2021. It remains to be seen if this ‘exiting’ of NXT is a temporary storyline move - with Lee’s frustrations growing after a series of high-profile losses - or if this is indeed the end of Lee in NXT ahead of an expected WWE main roster call-up.
