Wheeler Yuta Off Tonight's AEW Rampage Due To Double Booking, New Match Announced

Jon Moxley will be in singles action!

Wheeler Yuta will not be appearing on tonight's live episode of AEW Rampage due to a double booking.

The Blackpool Combat Club member was scheduled to team with Claudio Castagnoli to face off against ‘Daddy Magic’ Matt Mernard and Angelo Parker of the Jericho Appreciation Society.

However, Yuta will instead be turning out for New Japan Strong on their ‘The Night Before Rumble on 44th Street’ card where he will team with Shota Umino & Homicide against Tom Lawlor, Royce Isaacs & Jorel Nelson.

AEW released a short video on Twitter where the former ROH Pure Champion Yuta addressed the situation:

“Well folks it seems I’ve found myself in a little bit of a pickle. I got a little bit too excited celebrating my birthday and my big win last night on Dynamite and I’ve accidentally double booked myself for Friday, committing myself to a match on AEW Rampage as well as New Japan Strong.

“I did make the New Japan Strong commitment first, and in the Blackpool Combat Club, we honour our commitments.

“Don’t fret AEW fans, New Japan will be sending one of their best and brightest stars very soon.”

With the proposed tag team match on Rampage scrapped, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley will take on Matt Menard in a singles bout instead.
