Despite working with WWE for several years, Abyss has never wrestled a match for the company, not even a guest appearance in a Royal Rumble match.

The TNA Legend has been spotted on WWE TV from time to time - without the Abyss gimmick - but never once laced up his boots. During a conversation between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens on What Do You Wanna Talk About, Rhodes revealed he has pushed numerous times for ‘The Monster’ to enter the Rumble:

"One that I've been trying for years and it's just not going to happen, I keep trying to get Abyss into the Royal Rumble," said Cody, with Owens replying, "It came so close one year."

As for why Abyss never entered the Rumble, Owens suggested it was due to the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion - real name Chris Park - not being in wrestling shape, and displaying the signs of a career as a bump-taking hardcore icon:

"I think it's too late. He's lost too much weight. Putting him in the ring at this point when he walks that way would be illegal. We love Chris," added Owens.

Abyss himself recently revealed that he is retired as an in-ring competitor, having last worked a match in April 2019.
