Why AEW Began New Feud Between MJF & Mark Briscoe

MJF and Mark Briscoe recently kicked off a feud on All Elite Wrestling television, a first time programme between the two.

The feud seemed to come from left field, following on from MJF’s courting of and acceptance into the Hurt Syndicate, and a quick feud with Mistico going into AEW Grand Slam Mexico. After the Hurt Syndicate took out JetSpeed on the June 25 episode of Dynamite, Briscoe arrived mic in hand to insult MJF, referring to the former AEW World Champion’s ‘kosher pickle’.

Per a report from Fightful Select, this feud has been pushed for by MJF himself ‘for quite some time’, with the feud believed to be ‘very important’ to Friedman.

The two men have never shared a ring in their careers, and it remains to be seen when the two will finally square off. Briscoe won a four way on Dynamite to book his spot in the Casino Gauntlet at All In Texas on July 12, though, and MJF will try and qualify for the bout next week at Dynamite 300. The winner of the Casino Gauntlet will receive a future shot at the AEW World Championship.
