Roman Reigns' latest hiatus from WWE programming is close to coming to an end.
According to WrestleVotes on WrestleVotes Radio, Reigns is nearing a return and he will be back on WWE TV ahead of SummerSlam, which is scheduled for August 2 and August 3 at MetLife Stadium. Plans are also in place for Reigns to adopt an alternative version of his Tribal Chief moniker, similar to his return at SummerSlam 2024 when he came back as the OTC.
"It's that time of year again as the return of Roman Reigns is nearing. According to several within the company, the preparation behind the return of the Tribal Chief has begun, including new merchandising and marketing for Roman, who has been off of TV since the night after WrestleMania. Sources indicate that while having Roman work the Saudi PLE was under discussion for some time, Reigns will indeed be back prior to SummerSlam as he's set to be a main part of that two-night event...We are hearing alternate Tribal Chief monikers are being considered this time around," WrestleVotes said.
Reigns has been absent from WWE TV since the Raw after WrestleMania 41 when he was laid out by Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins. This came only two days after Paul Heyman turned on Reigns to align with Seth Rollins in the main event of WrestleMania 41 night one.
The SummerSlam plans for WWE's highest-paid wrestler are unknown but the expectation is he will rekindle his issues with Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman upon his return.
