Brody King was absent from the Wednesday, April 8 episode of AEW Dynamite due to attending the funeral of his friend, Bo Lueders.
King announced on X/Twitter: "I promise I would much rather be at Dynamite than having to attend my friends funeral. Thank you to Bandido for being the best partner and stepping up in my absence and thank you to Tony for giving me the ability to be with my friends and family at this time. #Boluedersforver."
King was originally scheduled to team with Darby Allin and Jack Perry against the Don Callis Family's Andrade El Idolo, Konosuke Takeshita, and Mark Davis. Bandido replaced Brody King in the match on Dynamite.
It was announced on April 3 that Bo Lueders, the guitarist and co-founder of hardcore punk band Harm's Way, had passed away at the age 0f 38. No cause of death was revealed, but the announcement by Harm's Way directed people to call the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline if they are struggling with depression or have urges to self-harm.
Harm's Way wrote on Instagram:
"It is with heavy, broken hearts that we share that our beloved Bo Lueders has passed away.
"He will be remembered for his unwavering empathy and compassion for his friends & family and his magnetic, inimitable presence on & off the stage.
"We kindly ask for grace and privacy as we navigate this extremely difficult time.
"For those struggling with depression or urges to self harm, help is always available. We're not in this alone. Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: 988."
