Why Cody Rhodes Won't Turn Heel In AEW

The American Nightmare is happy playing Mr. Nice

With The Young Bucks officially turning heel in AEW and reforming The Elite with Kenny Omega, is there a chance that Cody Rhodes could also turn his back on the fans and run roughshod over the wrestling world once again? Well according to Rhodes himself, there is no chance of this happening.

When a fan on twitter suggested that Cody is turning heel soon, The American Nightmare responded:

“Literally almost no chance my friend. After a decade of honing my skills at this, and the last 3 - 4 years of such a strong and growing connection with my fans...I’d be a fool to throw it away and swim upstream.”

As one of the top three, if not THE face of AEW, you can understand Rhodes’ hesitance to turn heel at this point in his career. With his out-of-the-ring ventures with TNT, a face Cody Rhodes is far more likely to bring viewers to and from AEW’s product than a heel version.
