ROH’s Death Before Dishonor PPV event has been jumping about the calendar in 2025, first being scheduled for July across AEW All In Texas weekend, before being replaced by the Supercard Of Honor PPV. The show was then set to take place on September 5 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before being brought forward to August 29. Due to AEW’s residency in the venue from August 27 to September 11, the location of ROH Death Before Dishonor has remained the same.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has revealed why this change has taken place. It is noted that AEW & ROH president Tony Khan had committed to going to a wedding across the original ROH Death Before Dishonor date, but having never missed a TV taping or PPV, he had to change the date of the show due to it being impossible for him to have attended originally.
Following reports of WWE’s intentions to continue counter-programming AEW, it was announced that WWE would be hosting an episode of NXT in Philadelphia just a week before AEW’s residency in the city starts.
