WWE have changed their plans for Money in the Bank 2026 once again as the pay-per-view has been pushed back from Sunday, September 6 to Saturday, October 10, with the event still scheduled for the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Fightful Select has reported that WWE had planned to move Money in the Bank for well over a month and there were multiple reasons behind pushing back the show, including a scheduling matter with broadcast partners, while the event would have been more expensive for fans in early September due to Labor Day weekend.

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has also reported the show was moved due to WWE's touring schedule. The production trucks needed for WWE events would have been too far away to hold Money in the Bank on September 6.

Replacing Money in the Bank on the WWE schedule for September 6 was a special Sunday edition of Saturday Night's Main Event at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Saturday Night's Main Event took place at the same venue in July 2025 and was headlined by Goldberg's retirement match against Gunther.

Money in the Bank has often been held in the summer, but this year's edition of the show was first announced for August 29, before being moved to September 6, and now October 10. WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque is reportedly not a big fan of the Money in the Bank concept.
