Why WWE Split Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin In The 2024 Draft

During the April 26 WWE Draft edition of SmackDown, Bron Breakker was drafted to Raw while Baron Corbin was sent to SmackDown. This has seemingly (at least temporarily) ended their tag team known as The Wolf Dogs, which held the NXT Tag Team Titles for 55 days earlier this year. 

According to a report from Fightful Select, the reason they were split is because WWE has plans for both as singles performers. Sean Ross Sapp and Corey Brennan both heard from WWE sources that the company see Breakker as a major singles star and player for the future. 

Corbin, meanwhile, is likely to get a renewed look as a member of the blue brand, having not received a main roster push since 2022. The report added that Corbin was not at the WWE Performance Center. 

It was previously reported that The Lone Wolf would be getting recalled to the main WWE roster. The 39-year-old recently revealed that he signed a contract extension, with his original deal expiring towards the end of last year. Corbin credited his return to NXT and team with Breakker for rejuvenating his career.
